how can you change text on xp start button.

hey user you can change the text on windows xp start button in explorer.exe with simple steps.

step1- modify explorer.exe


- first of all you have to download a very small software.

- after download, open reshack.zip and click reshack.exe

- a window will be open.  click on "file" and open. and locate in windows directory and open "explorer.exe"

- expand "string table". expand "37" and click on 1033.

- you can see on the right side of window " start " will be write.

- by selecting "start" delete text and put your own text. and click on compile script.

- now click on "save as" and give the file name in the form of "file name.exe". and click save. and close the      window.


 


Step 2 – Modify the Registry


- now go to start button and click on run and enter "regedit".

- follow the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon.


-In the right pane, double click the "Shell" entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.

- close the registry window and either log off and then log on.
you can see at the strat button name will be changed.
